The Divine Leadership of Akhanda Sangha

Akhanda Sangha, founded by Sri Srimat Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Dev (Sri Sri Babamoni), operates on the principle of ‘selection’ rather than ‘election’. Sri Sri Babamoni nominated His Successor, Sri Sri Samhita Devi, who later nominated Sri Sri Tapan Brahmachary (adorably known as Sri Sri Dadamoni) as Her Successor. Currently, Sri Sri Dadamoni serves as the ‘Nikhil Biswa Akhanda Sangha Pradhan’.

Background
Born in Siliguri to the most respected Sri Swadesh Bhusan Gupta and the most revered Smt. Sandhya Gupta, Sri Sri Dadamoni is the nephew of Sri Sri Sadhana Devi, our Ashram-Mata. Sri Sri Dadamoni's connection with the Ayachak Ashrama began at a very young age when he visited the Varanasi Ashrama with his family. Drawn to the motherly divine presence of Sri Sri Mamoni, he refused to leave the Ashrama and was subsequently admitted to a school in Varanasi, where he completed his studies.

A Lifetime of Service
Under the guidance of Sri Sri Babamoni and Sri Sri Mamoni, Sri Sri Dadamoni was involved in various Ashrama activities from a very young age. He was like a foster-son to Sri Sri Mamoni. Now, as the ‘Nikhil Biswa Akhanda Sangha Pradhan’, he leads the organization with wisdom and humility.

A Spirit of Selflessness
True to the spirit of self-abolition, Sri Sri Dadamoni issued a command shortly after taking charge, prohibiting the chanting of victory slogans in his name. He reaffirmed the tradition of chanting only four victory slogans: “Jayatu Sri Sri Babamoni, Jayatu Sri Sri Mamoni, Jayatu Sri Sri Ashram-Mata, Jayatu Sri Sri Bhaida”.

Leadership and Achievements
Under Sri Sri Dadamoni's able leadership, Akhanda Sangha has made significant progress in implementing the unfinished tasks of Sri Sri Babamoni. Some of his notable achievements include:

Acquiring long awaited land adjoining to the Upasana Mandir.
Establishing Ayachak Ashrama Mandirs at Hojai (Assam), Haflong (Assam), Guwahati (Assam), Andal (West Bengal) and other locations.
Installing a high-capacity green generator to augment uninterrupted power supply for Pupunki, revamping the manure gas plant set up by Sri Sri Babamoni, modern cowshed, 600-bed guest house, modern library, auditorium, museums, congregation hall and boundary walls around the Engineering college at Pupunki, modernization of the Ayurvedic medicine unit at Varanasi, Mustard oil plants at Pupunki and Varanasi and many more to change the look of Pupunki Ashrama.

Under Sri Sri Dadamoni's able leadership, Akhanda Sangha continues to thrive and we, indeed, are blessed to have him as our ‘Sangha Pradhan’.
